Jesse S. Perry

Jesse S. Perry, age 98, of Middletown, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Village House Nursing Home of Newport, RI. Jesse was born October 11, 1916 in Newport, the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Jacome) Perry. He was married to Elsie M. Silvia for 69 years. Jesse served in WWII in the US Army, participating in battles in France and Central Europe. After the war he returned home and began a long career as a carpenter. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and enjoyed tending to his gardens.Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his sister Mary Gloria Silvia of Newport, his sisters-in-law Alice Augustus and Madeline Perry, and many nieces and nephews.Jesse was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Frank, Raymond, and Michael Perry.The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 10am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway, Newport.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jesus Saviour Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
