Jo-Ann F. Fenn

Newport, RI - Jo-Ann F. Fenn, 67, of Newport, RI, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Mass General Hospital, Boston, MA surrounded by her loving family. JoAnne was the wife of Earl F. Fenn Jr. for the past 38 years. He survives her, as well as her son Earl "Buddy" Fenn III and his wife Cassandra. She also leaves her sister in law Marcia Story and niece Kelly Story of Columbus, Ohio, a brother in law John J. Fenn of Henderson, Nevada, and many cousins in Massachusetts and one Aunt Doris Ryan of North Attleboro, MA. She was born in Newport, RI on August 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Jean (Ryan) Thomas.Jo-Ann graduated from Rogers High School, class of 1963. She began her career as an employee of Mrs. George H. Warren, the late Mrs. John Nicholas Brown, and Diane Ryan. After her marriage she was employed at St. Clare's Home for several years. She later conducted a child care center in her home and subsequently was hired to work at the Newport Chalet. Jo-Ann enjoyed her family, shopping, reading, sewing and driving around the ocean drive. She also enjoyed her cat Maxine. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 9:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
