Joan B. Turner

Middletown, - Joan B. Gill Turner, 71, of the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, formerly of 23 King Road, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of Herschel L. Turner. Born in Newport, RI, on August 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Leo F. and Victoria DeSantis Gill. Mrs. Turner worked as a secretary for the Newport School Department for 25 years, retiring in 2003. She was a Communicant of Jesus Saviour Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mrs. Turner enjoyed gardening, walking and arts crafts. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Lawrence L. Turner of Fall River, MA, Stephen M. Turner of Portsmouth, RI, and Michael H. Turner of West Greenwich, RI, Six Grandchildren Two Great Grandchildren.Her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at 8:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.
