Gulfport, - Joan Bland Holland, 78, of 2960 59 Street South Gulfport, Florida formerly of Jamestown, RI, died Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Rhode Island Hospital Providence, RI.She was the wife of the late Howard V. Holland for over 55 Years. Born in Newport, RI on December 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Mabel Knowlton Bland. Mrs. Holland was a member of St. Mark Church, in Jamestown, where she was a member of the Junior Women?s Club and served on the Church Cemetery Committee. When Mrs Holland was living in St. Petersburg, Florida she attended the St. Jude Cathedral, and was a member of the Sunshine Lady of the Jamison Building where she lived. She and her husband Howard V. Holland founded the family business of H. V. Holland Inc. Company of Jamestown, RI. She is survived by her son Edward N. Holland of Jamestown, RI, her daughter Mary Ann Williamson of Jamestown, RI, her daughter-in-law Sharon G Holland of Jamestown, RI, her son-in-law John S Williamson of Jamestown, RI, her granddaughters Elizabeth J Williamson and Emily G. Holland, her step-daughter Sandra McGrath of Atlanta, GA, her sister Audrey Pickman of Pass Christian, MS, her step-sister Shirley Sullivan of Waterford, CT and many nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Peter J. Holland. Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 24, 2003, at 11:00am in St. Mark?s Catholic Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI.Burial will be Private Donations may be made in her memory to the Jamestown Fire and Rescue Department,50 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI 02835 or to the American Cancer Society, 222 Richmond Street, Providence, RI 02903. Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
