John Albert Miller, Sr

Middletown, RI - John Albert Miller, Sr., 69, of 1 Buck Road, Middletown, RI, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Elba Rosario Miller. Born in Buffalo, NY on Nov. 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Elnathan and Fern L. Franklin Miller.Mr. Miller was in the Navy for 20 years having served two tours in Vietnam. He then worked in the Commissary at the Newport Naval Base. Mr. Miller also had worked for the former Doubletree Hotel on Goat Island and the Newport Harbor Hotel. His memberships include the Middletown VFW, the Fleet Reserve and the D.A.V. He was an avid Red Sox and Buffalo Bills Fan, he enjoyed playing darts and bowling. He leaves his sons John A. Miller Jr. of Fall River, MA , Michael D. Miller of Newport, RI, his daughter Sandra I. Miller of Newport, RI, a companion Betty Ward of Middletown, RI, a brother Brian Miller of Buffalo, NY, a sister Melanie Miller of North Andover, MA, He is also survived by his grandchildren Jose L. Miller of Newport, Brandon Miller and Maegan Miller both of Fall River, MA.He was brother of the late David Miller. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI.Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 ? 7 pm in the funeral home.
