MIDDLETOWN, RI - John B. Manghan, 74, of 715 Forest Park, Middletown, RI, formerly of Prospect Hill, Newport, RI, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2005, at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 19, 1931, he was the son of the late John B. and Helen Doyle Manghan.John was Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy during the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict, serving for 25 years, retiring in 1969. He had also worked for the Newport Public Works Department on the Newport Naval Base for many years. He was a member of the Newport VFW Post #4487. He is survived by his nephew William McGlynn of Uncasville, CT, and his nieces Coleen McGlynn Landry of New York, NY, Eileen McGlynn of Long Island, NY, and Noreen McGlynn of Wellington, FL. He was the brother of the late Robert Manghan and Eileen McGlynn. A Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at 10:30AM, in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.
