John Boiani

John Boiani, 92, of 122 Eustis Avenue Newport, died Monday, June 17, 2002 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.He was the husband of the late Louise Silva Boiani. Born in Newport, RI on June 24, 1909, he was the son of the late Rudolpho and Aurelia Boiani.Mr. Boiani worked for the Naval Public Works Department as a leadman. He was a graduate of St. Josephs School, De La Salle Academy. He was a lifelong member of St. Josephs Church, a past commander of the Portsmouth American Legion, a member of the Sachuest Salt Water Fishing Club, and the Naval Public Works Bowling League. He was an avid fisherman, quahogger and lobsterman. He is survived by his son Rudolph Boiani of Newport, RI, his granddaughter Kimberly Sue Boiani of Newport, RI, his great granddaughter Kassandra Louisa Boiani of Newport, RI, and his great grandson Christopher Alan Boiani of Newport, RI.He was the brother of the late Aldo Boiani, Evelyn Trifero and Myra Sonego. His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2002, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
