John David Correira

Middletown, RI - John David Correira, 62, of 779 Jepson Lane, Middletown, RI, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RIBorn in Newport, RI on August 17, 1947, he was the son of Gertrude Ferrea Correira and the late Joseph Anthony Correira.He and his father were owner/operators of Newport Farms Nursery, with John taking over day to day operations after his fathers death. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring antique cars and working in his garden. He is survived by his sister Naureen Gertrude Desmarais of Portsmouth, RI, his nephews David Desmarais of Portsmouth, RI and Scott Desmarais of North Stonington, CT.He was the brother of the late Joseph A. Correira, Jr. His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.In memory of John and your loved ones, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Providence, RI 02886.
