Portsmouth, - John Francis Casey, 87, of 106 King Phillip Street Portsmouth, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA.He was the husband of Dorothy Callahan Casey. Born in Brighton, MA on January 16, 1916, he was the son of the late Cornelius H. and Abigail Moynihan Casey.Mr. Casey worked as an oil burner service technician for Peckham Coal and Oil Co., Newport Oil Company, Humphrey Oil Company and the US Navy Melville Tank Farm. He was a member of the Green Valley Country Club for over 40 years. Mr. Casey loved playing golf and enjoyed keeping his yard in shape with his flowers and garden. Besides his wife of 58 years he is survived by two sons John Steven Casey of Portsmouth, RI, and Frederic William Casey of Savanah, GA, and five grandchildren,He was the father of the late Robert Francis Casey, and the brother of the late Thomas Casey, Vincent Casey, Harold Casey, Corneilus Casey and Helena Fitzgerald. His funeral will be held on Monday, April 7, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
