Middletown, - John Joseph Caraway, 58, of 421 Corey Lane Middletown, RI died Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on April 25, 1946, he was the son of John F. Caraway and Mary Elizabeth Silvia Caraway of Middletown, RI. Mr. Caraway worked in the Maintenance Department at The Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, RI. He had served in The U S Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Aviation Mechanic. Mr. Caraway was a member of the American Mens Bowlers Association and was a member of the Somerset Commuters Team, during his bowling carrier he had six perfect games of ?300? and wore the Association Ring. He also had traveled arround the country participating in many tournments and winning many trophies and awards. He was a member of Jesus Savior Church. John had enjoyed hunting and fishing and a good round of Golf and as an avid Red Sox Baseball Fan he like to both play and watch the game. He was a former member of the Middletown F O P # 21. John mostly enjoyed being with his family and being on the dance floor with his fiance. Prior to his working at Green Valley Country Club in the Maintence Department, he owned and operated a landscape business from 1990-98 , and had also been a welder at Electric Boat. Besides his parents he is survived by his daughter Justine Palmer of Cleveland, GA, three grandchildren Jessica Brooke Palmer, Mason Shane Palmer and Eli Joseph Palmer all of Cleveland, GA and his fiance Rosemary Silvia Middletown, RI. His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at 8:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
