John ?Jack? J. Sullivan, JR. Portsmouth, - John ?Jack? J. Sullivan, Jr., 69, of 14 Anson Road, Portsmouth, died Friday, November 12, 2004, at home.He was the husband of Patricia Cooper Sullivan. Born in Newport, RI on January 28, 1935, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Elizabeth F. OLoughlin Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan had worked as a salesman in the food industry in Rhode Island and Southeastern, MA, for 46 years, retiring in 2002. He was a Graduate of De La Salle Academy, Class of 1953. Mr. Sullivan had served with the Rhode Island National Guard from 1954 until 1956. He was a Communicant of St. Anthonys Church in Portsmouth. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed working in his rose garden. Mr. Sullivan was also an Eagle Scout. Besides his wife of 49 years, he is survived by two sons John J. Sullivan III of Costa Mesa, CA, and Thomas P. Sullivan of Portsmouth, RI, a daughter Mary Lou Weiss of Portsmouth, RI, two sisters Noreen Sullivan ONeil of Newport, RI, and Mary Sullivan Guilfoyle of Newport, RI, 7 nieces and 4 nephews, and 3 grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Francis X. Sullivan.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at 9:00AM, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
