John R. Liptak

Newport, RI - John R. Liptak, Sr., 66, of formerly of 27 Holland Street Newport, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center Newport, RI. Born in Jamestown, RI on September 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Lawrence C. and Mary Elizabeth Jordan Liptak. Mr. Liptak was in the United States Air Force for seven years. After the Air Force he worked as a painter in the area until his retirement last year. He is survived by his son John Liptak, Jr. of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Sandra Liptak of Tiverton, RI, a stepson John Moore of New York, two stepdaughters Lori Virgadamo of Middletown and Judy Freeman of Bristol, RI, his brother Lawrence Liptak of Middletown, RI, five nieces and nephews and 15 grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother Frank Liptak and his long time companion Phylis Moore.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at 10:00am, in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be private.Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
