John Robert Cozzens

Portsmouth, - John R. ?Bob? Cozzens, 72, of 18 Storm King Drive Portsmouth, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at home.He was the husband of Irene ?Renee? Finn Cozzens. Born in Newport, RI on January 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Maclyn D. and Edith Jones Cozzens.Mr. Cozzens was a 1950 graduate of Rogers High School. He was in the United States Marine Corps and was called into active duty for the Korean War. Mr. Cozzens was a life honoray member of the Middletown K of C #4201 and the IBEW Local #99. Mr. Cozzens owned and operated Cozzens Electric Co. Inc. until his retirement in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church. Besides his wife of 48years he is survived by his son Michael J. Cozzens of Saunderstown, RI, two daughters Cathleen A. Silveira of Newport, RI, and Mary L. Hebert of Morristown, NJ, his brother Alexander A. ?Sandy? Cozzens of Portsmouth, RI, two sisters Bette DelNero and Jean M. Peckham both of Newport, RI, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Friday, November 22, 2002, at 9:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
