John William Caragianis

Portsmouth, RI - John William Caragianis, 75, of 95 Adams Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA. He was the husband of Nina Daglis Caragianis. Born in Cambridge, MA on August 13, 1931, he was the son of the late William and Helen Vinios Caragianis. He served in the United States Navy and he was the past owner and operator of the Newport Music Company. He was a member of the Portsmouth Rotary Club for many years and a very active member of the business community. He was a current member of the AHEPA, the Masons and the Shriner?s. He was also an active member of the St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Newport. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, William John Caragianis of Portsmouth, RI, Elaine Passa of East Greenwich, RI, and Christine Broadbridge of Cheshire, CT, eight grandchildren, John W. Caragianis of Bomont, TX, Samanatha Caragianis and Kristina Caragianis both of Portsmouth, RI, John Passa, Gregory Passa and Nicole Passa all of East Greenwich, RI, and Peter Broadbridge and Lydia Broadbridge both of Cheshire, CT, and his sisters Stacey Stevenson Maravell, Pat Zaharias and Ronnie Caragianis all of Belmont, MA. He was the brother of the late Chris Caragianis of Newport and the late Athena Erokan of California. His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006, at 11:00, a funeral service in Greek Orthodox Church Taxiarchae, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, from 3-7pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
