Jon Watson Vashon

Portsmouth, RI - Jon Watson Vashon, 51, of 1 Bourbon Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at St. Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA. He was the husband of Janice Diane Tedders Vashon. Born in Newport, RI on July 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Erlon Harry and Norma Watson Vashon.Mr. Vashon worked in security at the Raytheon Corporation in Portsmouth. He was a member of the St. John Lodge of Masons and a member of the former Eureka Lodge of which he was past Master. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Phillip A. Vashon of Portsmouth, his mother Norma Helen Vashon of Newport, his sister Pamela Fischer and her husband Karl of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, his sister Cynthia Skensved and her husband Peter of Syndham, Ontario, Canada, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 11:00am, in Portsmouth Cemetery, Turnpike Avenue, Portsmouth. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 18, 2007, from 7-9pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
