Jose Perreira Aguiar

Jose Perreira Aguiar, 88, of Middletown died Thursday, June 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol, RI. Mr. Aguiar was born September 12, 1926 in San Miguel Azores. He is the son of the late Antonio and the late Augustina (Perreira) Aguiar. He was married to the late Maria Isabel Cabral for over 60 years. Jose loved fishing, gardening, farm animals and most important of all, spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching professional soccer on T.V.He is survived by his children; Hilda Viera and her husband Edward of Fall River, MA, Maria Marshall and her late husband Manuel of Middletown, Lucia DaSilva and her husband Luis of San Miguel Azores, Antonio Aguiar and his wife Anna of Fall River, MA, Joseph Aguiar and his wife Dalinda of Middletown, RI, Elizabeth Floen of Tiverton, RI and Robert Aguiar and his wife Kirsten of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by his brother Francisco Aguiar of San Miguel, Azores and his sister Judith Ventura of Newport, RI and 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2015 from 5-8 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport.His funeral will be held on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 9am in the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Jesus Saviour Church, 509 Broadway in Newport.
