Jose Silveira Garcia

Jose Silveira Garcia, 63, of Middletown, RI, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Newport Hospital.Born in Portugal on October 1, 1949, he was the son of the late Antonio S. Garcia and Zulmira A. (Moutoso) Garcia.Jose worked as a carpenter until illness forced an early retirement in the 1990s. He was a member of Jesus Saviour Church and the Vasco da Gama Society. He enjoyed model trains and had an extensive collection at home.He is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, and he leaves behind his neighbors, including Barry Sullivan, and many friends at the Middletown McDonalds and the Broadway Dunkin Donuts.Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 3 from 4-7 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 9 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Jesus Savior Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport.
