Middletown, RI - Joseph A. Medeiros, 75, of 9 Squantum Drive, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.He was the husband of Janet Lawry Medeiros. Born in Middletown, RI on December 4, 1934, he was the son of the late Manuel and Rose Garcia Medeiros.Mr. Medeiros worked for Reed and Barton in Taunton, MA, retiring in 1999. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed nothing more then being with his family. Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his children, Joseph A. Medeiros, Jr., of Richmond, TX, Cheryl Medeiros Cunz and Richard W. Medeiros of Rehoboth, MA, his brothers Arthur Medeiros and Manuel Medeiros, Jr. of Middletown, RI, his sister Agnes Medeiros of Newport, RI, and his grandchildren, Jennifer and Erin Medeiros of Richmond, TX and Jason and Ryan Medeiros of Rehoboth, MA.He was the brother of the late Lillian Mace. His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 10:00 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.At the request of the family calling hours are omitted.
