FALL RIVER- Joseph A. Murphy Jr., 69, died Tuesday (February 12, 2013) as a result of a long battle with Diabetes. Joe was born on February 18, 1943 in Boston MA, and was the son of Joseph Sr. and Mildred Murphy. A childhood resident of Dorchester, graduate of St. Mary's University in Halifax NS, and a U.S. Marine, he spent most of his adult years in Marshfield, where he was fondly known for his short stint as the "Bogey golfer" on local access television and his "Crooner" Frank Sinatra singing voice. He was the beloved father of Joseph, Maryellen and Julie, cherished brother to Mary Paula, and the devoted grandfather of 6. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Gilman chapel of Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Fund. (
