Joseph C. Belanger

Middletown, - Joseph ?Harry? A. Belanger, 83, of 12 Rosa Road Middletown, died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Village House Newport, RI.He was the husband of Irene C. Konarski Belanger. Born in Fall River, MA on July 26, 1919, he was the son of the late Adelard and Rose Morin Belanger.Mr. Belanger was a Gunners Mate in the United States Navy serving in the American, European-African-Middle Eastern and Asiatic-Pacific Campaigns during WWII and also served during the Korean War. He retired from the Navy in 1961. He later worked as a custodian at the Newport Boys Girls Club until 1982. Besides his wife of 51 years he is survived by his sister Rita Ferland of Somerset, MA, four nephews Charles Ferland of Somerset, MA, William Green Jr. and Daniel Konarski both of Westport, MA and Andrew Konarski of Fall River, Ma, five nieces Joan Barrett of Huston, TX, Joanne Micklow of Phoenixville, PA, Arlene Belanger of Fall River, MA, Denise Silvia of Somerset, MA and Susan Konarski of Boston, MA. His funeral will be private. Burial will take place at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
