Joseph C. Davis

Portsmouth, RI - Joseph C. Davis, 54, of 258 Jepson Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died on Sunday, October 15, 2006, in Rockledge, FL, while visiting with family. Born in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts on August 18, 1952, he was the son of Catherine McCarthy Davis of Palm Bay, FL and the late Collie Davis.Joe was a 1970 graduate of Rogers High School. After school he worked at Bens Furniture in Newport, then at General Electric for ten years. In 1985 he joined Blount Marine and has worked there as a M.C.S. Joe loved to walk on the beach in the early morning, and also enjoyed photograpy and gardening and spent a lot of his time at ?Moore Blooms?. He loved to play pool and would meet his friends every week for pool night, recently joining a pool team. Poppy loved nothing more then spending time with his grandchildren. Joe was the beloved father of Christine M. Davis, Brian J. Davis and Michelle L. Davis all of Middletown. Joe also leaves behind a step-daughter Jessica Farias of Warren, RI. Joe was the proud Poppy of Kayla, Jayvon, Tyler, and Colin Davis, Skyler, Xavier and Jade Farias. He also leaves behind his sister Margaret Garcia of Arizona, his brother Robert and his wife Liz of Portsmouth, RI, his brother Richard and his wife Susan of Rockledge, FL, his sister in-law Nancy Davis of Melbourne, FL, his nieces Angela, Catherine, Jackie, and Jennifer, his nephews Jeremy and Kevin Davis and many cousins. He was the brother of the late Jimmy Davis and the uncle of the late Michael Davis. His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at 8:00am, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.
