Joseph Carl Medeiros

Newport, RI - Joseph Carl Medeiros, 87, of 7 Balsam Street Newport, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI. He was the husband of Hermina ?Minnie? Lopes Medeiros. Born in Newport, RI, on May 20, 1916, he was the son of the late Virgino Medeiros and Maria Sardinha Medeiros. Mr. Medeiros served in the Army during WWII, with the Military Police, in Cairo, Egypt for three years. After the service he became a nurseryman at Boulevard Nurseries for 38 years, retiring in 1978. Mr. Medeiros was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church, Newport. He is survived by his Wife of 58 years Hermina ?Minnie? Medeiros of Middletown, RI, his daughter Linda Marie Medeiros of Middletown, RI and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Virgino Medeiros, John Medeiros, Raymond Medeiros and Mary Silvia.His funeral will be held on Thursday April 1, 2004 at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, to be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.
