Joseph F. Pine

Middletown, RI - Joseph Francis Pine, 71, of 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.He was the husband of the late Shirley Hyatt Pine.Born in Newport, RI on April 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank P. and Rose Bettencourt Pine.Mr. Pine worked for Mello Construction, JAM and RJ Cawley Construction for over 50 years, retiring in 2004. He also worked for the Middletown Highway Department for several years. Mr. Pine was a communicant of Jesus Savior Church.He is survived by his children, Raymond, Joseph, Shirley, Teresa, Catherine and Christine; his brothers, Francis Pine and his late wife Ann Pine, of Portsmouth, Richard Pine and his companion, Janet Seyler, of Middletown, Anthony Pine and his wife, Rita Pine, of Middletown, RI, and Robert and Kathy Pine of Somerset, MA, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren along with eight nephews and three nieces.. His funeral will be held on Monday, November 16, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 4-8 in the funeral home.
