Joseph F. Winthrop

Joseph F. Winthrop, 53 of 22 Smith Avenue, Newport, R.I., died Friday, January 30, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, R.I. he was the husband of Linda Brinton Winthrop. Mr. Winthrop was a graduate of Rogers High School class of 1969. He attended Roger Williams College graduating in 1985 with honors During High School he worked at Baileys Beach and the reading room. he worked at W.T. Grants as operations manager and also at JC Pennys in Newport. Mr. Winthrop was the Manufacturing Manager at Raytheon Corporation in Portsmouth for more than 26 years. He was an avid golfer enjoying yearly trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mr. Winthrop attended First Presbyterian Church Newport, RIHe is survived by his wife Linda Winthrop of Newport, R.I., his son Joseph Winthrop of Newport, R.I., two daughters Tracey Bolano of Wakefield, R.I., and Amy Winthrop of Newport, R.I., a grandson Andrew Bolano of Wakefield, R.I., two sisters Ellen Wilbur and Jean Winthrop both of Newport, R.I. Mr. Winthrop also leaves several nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Rita Hamel.
