Westport, MA - Joseph Fastino, Jr., 68, of 194 Charlotte White Road, Westport, MA, died Monday, July 5, 2010, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA. He was the husband of Eleanor Correia Fastino. Born in Fall River, MA, on November 9, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Filomena Correia Fastino.Joseph was the proprietor of the Esquire Barbar Shop in Middletown, RI for over 30 years. He was the 1959 graduate of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River, MA. He loved carpentry, working with his hands, fishing and boating. He especially enjoyed the camaraderie of his profession meeting and talking with people in his barber shop. Joe was known to his many patrons friends as a man of principle and generosity, always willing to help a friend in need or lend a helping hand. He was loved by many people and will be missed dearly. Besides his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his son, Scott Fastino of Fall River, MA, his daughter Jodi Rotondo of Westport, MA, his beloved cousin John Fastino of Fall River, MA two granddaughters Ashlie Arianna, and two grandsons, Brandyn Aaron. He is preceded in death by his brothers, John Peter Fastino and Tom Fastino.His funeral will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. John the Baptist, 945 Main Road, Westport, MA. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010, from 5-9 in the Memorial Funeral Home.
