Joseph Gaspar

Joseph Gaspar, 94, of Sylvan Street, Newport, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was the husband of Dorothy P. (Byron) Gaspar. Born in Fall River, MA on June 7, 1918, he was the son of the late Adriano and Marianna (DeCosta) Gaspar. Mr. Gaspar was a US Navy veteran of World War II and Korea. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Denise Gaspar of Newport, RI; his son, William Gaspar of Indiana; four grandchildren, Karl Marley of Westerly, RI, and Joseph Marley, Katherine Marley and Jakob McCallister, all of Newport, RI; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10 am in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
