Portsmouth, RI - Joseph Gerald "Jerry" Leo Patenaude, 73, of 35 Elaine Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. He was the husband of Gertrude M. (Garside) Patenaude. Born in Lowell, MA on January 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Leo J. and Anita (Robillard) Patenaude and brother of the late Constance D. Wallace and the late Robert G. Patenaude.Mr. Patenaude served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his 20 years in the service he went to Roger Williams College and graduated in 1984 with a BA in Business Administration. Joe was an active member of St. Barnabas Church, as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, an Usher and served on the feast committee and worked the festival as kitchen staff. Besides his wife of nearly 51 years, he is survived by his children, Gerald G. Patenaude of West Melbourne, FL, Sheila D. Osko and her husband Robert of Griswold, CT and Camille E. White and her husband David of Portsmouth, RI, his former daughter-in-law Vickie Hearn Patenaude of West Melbourne, FL, His grandchildren, Chelsea Patenaude and Jessica Patenaude of West Melbourne, FL, Marc Osko and Timothy Osko of Griswold, CT and Adrienne White, Lauren White and Robert White of Portsmouth, RI.Calling hours will be held on April 20, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.His funeral will be held on April 21, 2012, at 8:00am, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
