Joseph W. Graves Middletown, RI - Joseph W. Graves, 95, of The John Clarke retirement Center, 600 Valley Road, Middletown, formerly of Warwick, RI and Aiken, SC, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Irene Davis Graves and the late Thelma Duston Graves. Born in Providence, R.I. on July 30, 1909, he was the son of the late Nehemiah Graves and Harriet Lehman Graves. Mr. Graves had been an engineer for over thirty years for the Department of Transportation for the State of RI, he was an active member of Saint Johns United Methodist Church, Aiken, South Carolina. Mr. Graves was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Aiken, South Carolina. He is survived by his daughter Marilyn Hambly of Portsmouth, RI, his sister Lucille Coppage of Warwick, RI, a grandson Stephen Hambly of Middletown, RI, a granddaughter Elizabeth King of Middletown, RI, and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 AM in John Clarke Retirement Center, 600 Valley Road, Middletown. Burial will be private.
