Newport, RI - Josephine ?Phiney? Maigler Blanton, 75, of 19D Pond Avenue Newport, died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on March 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Nora Marren Maigler. Mrs. Blanton worked for 31 years as an assembler with the former General Electric Company. She was a communicant of St. Joseph?s Church. She is survived by her son William J. Blanton of Newport, RI, her daughter Diane Gaspar of Hope Valley, RI, two sisters Elinore Soares and Mildred Geas both of Newport, RI, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Gustav Maigler, George Maigler, James Maigler. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
