Josephine Ann Arruda

PORTSMOUTH, RI - Josephine Ann Arruda, 76, of the Anthony House, 51 Middle Road, Portsmouth, RI, formerly of East Main Road, Portsmouth, died Friday, December 2, 2005, at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Portsmouth, RI, on October 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joaquin and Mary Grasse Arruda.Ms. Arruda had worked as a seamstress in Fall River, MA. She was a Communicant of St. Anthony?s Church in Portsmouth and a member of the Carmelite Order. She is survived by a brother Joseph and his wife Dolores Arruda of Westford, MA, and a sister Mary Arruda of Newport, RI, three nephews Jack and his wife Lucia Arruda of Portsmouth, RI, Wayne Arruda and his wife Linda of Westford, MA, and Mark Arruda of South Cariolina, a niece Linda Cuhn Kuhn of Warwick, RI, a great nephew Nicholas Joseph Arruda, and a great niece Elise Marie Arruda. She was the sister of the late Edmond Arruda and Angelina Arruda.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at 9:00am, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am, in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Donations may be made in her memory to St. Anthonys Church East Main Road Portsmouth, RI 02871.
