Josephine Sondra Farias

Portsmouth, - Josephine Sondra Moniz Farias, 68, of 2014 East Main Road Portsmouth, died Friday, August 29, 2003 at home after multiple complications due to Multiple Sclerosis.. She was the wife of Joseph George Farias of Portsmouth. Born in Fall River, MA on October 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Proc Moniz. Mrs. Farias was a seamstress at Holly Mill in Fall River, retiring in 1960. After her retirement she was a homemaker. Mrs. Farias was an avid bingo player. She was also a communicant of St. Barnabas Church. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons Michael Steven Farias of Portsmouth, RI, and George Bryant Farias of Miami, FL, two daughters Cheryl Ann Farias of Roanoke, VA, and Tia Marie Faucher of Portsmouth, RI her sister Gertrude Konen of Florida, one grandson, two granddaughters and five great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2003, at 9:00am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth followed with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown. Donations in her memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society RI Chapter, 205 Hallene Road Warwick, RI 02886
