PORTSMOUTH, RI - Joshua James Mello, 32, of 22 Narragansett Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in Fall River, MA on January 23, 1973, he was the son of Mary Lou Clark Mello of Portsmouth and the late Thomas E. Mello. Joshua was a 1991 graduate of Portsmouth High School and a 1999 graduate receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT. Joshua was previously employed by Looking Upwards Inc. as an Inclusion Specialist within the Newport School System. He was presently employed as a landscape architect at Windham Estate in Newport. Joshua was a talented Musician. He founded two groups, ?5-Fly? and APOSTROPHE?. His groups played several clubs in Rhode Island and Vermont as well as private parties. As a former employee of Killington Ski Resort, Joshua became an avid skier and snowboarder. Besides his mother and Samuel Cokinos of Portsmouth, RI, he is survived by his sister Susan E. Mello of Portsmouth, RI. He was the brother of the Michel T. Mello and grandson of the late George G. and Agnes E. Clark and John J. and Angelina Medeiros.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 9:00AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Anthony?s Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on July 5, 2005, from 4-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home. Joshua was an organ donor, In lieu of flowers please make donations to the New England Organ Bank, Rhode Island Hospital, 593 Eddy Street Annex Bldg. Rm. 202, Providence, RI 02903.
