Manteo, NC - Joyce Elaine Barcomb Houser, 69, of Shady Rest Trailer Court, died Sunday, September 15, 2002, at her residence.She was the wife of the late Charles Joseph Houser Sr. Born in Barre, VT, she was the daughter of the late James C. Barcomb and Bessy Royea Barcomb.Mrs. Houser was a retired nurse and homemaker. She volunteered extensively in Dare County, NC with various charities. She is survived by a stepmother, Elise Barcomb of Barre, VT, four daughters, Diane Elaine Becker of Fulton, NY, Rosemarie Stuart of Providence, RI, Ella Joyce Lynch of Kittery, ME and Joyce Elaine Cook of Troy, VA, three sons Robert Dale Houser of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Ricky Joseph Houser of Warwick, RI, and Charles Joseph Houser Jr. of Middletown, RI, two sisters Lou Bouchard of Killington, VT and May Davis of Fort Myers, FL, his brother Jerry Barcomb of Barre, VT, twenty one grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Jimmy Roy Moore and the sister of the late Walter Barcomb.Funeral services were held on September 23, 2002, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Nags Head, NC.She was laid to rest on Monday, September 30, 2002 at St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown, RI.
