Judith Ann Dennis

Portsmouth, RI - Judith Ann (Monk) Dennis, 66, of Portsmouth, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.She was the wife of Stephen Gordon Dennis.Born in Brockton, MA on May 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Gwendolyn (Cretinon) Monk.Mrs. Dennis was a 1967 graduate of Oliver Ames High School in Northeastern, MA. Judith loved her job helping and working with the handicap, at the James L. Maher Center for 30 years. Judith also worked at the Dress Barn for several years. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, crocheting, traveling, bowling and cooking for her family. Besides her husband of 32 years, she is survived by her children, Jeffrey M. Couch and his wife Christie (Bullilon) Couch of Whitehouse, TN, Stephen G. Dennis of Ft. Hood, TX and Jennifer M. Costa and her husband Allan A. Costa of Portsmouth, RI, her sisters Linda Graimm of East Providence, RI and Deborah Tylor of Naples, FL, and eight grandchildren, Matthew C Shirley, Joshua K. Couch, Stephan G. Dennis III, Jason Dennis, Tyson Dennis, Mia Nicole Dennis, Shane M. Paquette and Kyle J. Paquette..She was the sister of the late Richard Monk.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 12-2pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by a service at 2pm.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
