Portsmouth, RI - Judith Ann (Barker) Marshall, Age 73, of 28 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, died at home surrounded by her children on July 25, 2013. Born in Newport, RI on April 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John Herbert and Gertrude (Sisson) Barker, Jr.Judi graduated from Rogers High School, Class of 1958. She was married in September 1958 to John E. Franco. Together they had three beautiful sons, John (Jay), James (Jimi) and Jerold (Jerry). She began working for J.A.M Construction in 1970 where she worked for over 40 years. She remarried, John A. Marshall in 1972. The marriage brought together Judi's sons and John's daughters, Patricia (Trish) and Kirsten, and together they had a son, John A. Marshall Jr. Judi belonged to St. Marys Church in Portsmouth where she sang in the choir for many years and taught Sunday school. Judi had a great sense of humor, with a mischievous side. She loved to bake. Judi always had a story to tell about her younger years growing up in Portsmouth. When her children were growing up, her home was a place for everyone to gather and feel loved. Judi devoted her life to the family business. Her family was her greatest love, her children and beloved grandchildren were her world. She is survived by her children, John E. Franco Jr. and his wife Victoria of Portsmouth, James H. Franco of Newport, Jerold A. Franco and his fianc Heather Turcotte of Little Compton, and John A. Marshall Jr. and his wife Toni of Portsmouth, Patricia W. Marshall and her husband Timothy Schaller of Asheville, NC and Kirsten R. Marshall of Portsmouth. She is also survived by her son-in-law Lance Hebert of Portsmouth. She leaves her brother Paul D. Barker and his wife Margaret of Merritt Island, FL, and their children Eric Barker and Douglas Barker of Florida, and her brother John E. Barker of Portsmouth. She is the sister of the late Janice B. and John S. Kesson, of Portsmouth. She leaves her niece, Susan K. Farrea and her husband Joseph of Portsmouth and her predeceased nephew Michael K. Kesson and his daughter Kayla Kesson of Middletown. Judi also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews.
