Newport, RI - Judith Chase Eichelberger, 79, of 224 Gibbs Avenue Newport, died Monday, January 10, 2005 at Miriam Hospital Providence, RI.She was the wife of Edward W. Eichelberger of Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on February 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Julia Simmons Chase. Mrs. Eichelbergers first love was caring for her family and spending much of her summers at Third Beach. She was a member of the St. Marthas Guild of Holy Cross Church, a volunteer for the Lions Club Gaslight Key Club and a member of a large group of friends in a sewing club. Besides her husband she is survived by four sons A. Thomas Razza Jr. of Grafton, MA, James D. Razza of Plymouth, NH, Paul J. Razza of Warren, RI, and Christopher C. Razza of Newport, RI, her brother David Chase of Hartford, IL and Smyrna Beach, FL, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Ruth Anthony, Martha Chase and Nancy Chase.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2005, at 1:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Marys Churchyard in Portsmouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the Robert Potter League For Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
