Julia H. (Soeira) Jordan, 91, of Green End Avenue, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the John Clarke Nursing Retirement Center in Middletown.She was the loving wife of Joseph M. Jordan for 71 years.Born in Middletown, RI on June 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Maria (Silvia) Soeira.She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was selflessly dedicated to her family. All who knew her loved her and she loved them without reservation. She loved life and equally so her joy in playing Bingo with her many friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Julia Finn of Middletown, RI, Joseph A. Jordan of Florida, David A. Jordan of Massachusetts and Donna M. Shoppell of Middletown, RI; eight grandchildren; three great-children and numerous nieces and nephews.Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 8 am from Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John Clarke Nursing Retirement Center, Activities Fund, 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
