Julie Barrett

Newport, RI - Julie (Guttrich) Barrett, 40, of Newport, died Sunday, March 16, 2014.She was the wife of Irving Barrett. Born in Concord, MA on September 13, 1973, she was the daughter of Gordon and Linda (Johnson) Guttrich of Weston, MA. Julie was a 1996 graduate of Wellesley College. She was a gifted artist and a strong supporter of charities for animal rights and protection. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her mother-in-law Mary Ellin Barrett of New York, and her sisters-in-law Mary Ellin Lerner of Washington, DC, Elizabeth Matson and her husband Sasha Matson of New York and Katherine Swett and her husband Benjamin Swett of New York. Julie also leaves her aunts, Patricia Gove, Lillian Prince and her uncle Peter Johnson. Her funeral services will be private.
