Karen Jeanne Berluti Newport, - Karen Jeanne Berluti, 46, of 15B Dudley Avenue, Newport, formerly of 39 West Narragansett Avenue, Newport, died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born in Newport, RI on March 31, 1958, she was the daughter of Charles C. and Catherine Caine Berluti of Newport, RI. Ms. Berluti was a life long employee of Brooks Pharmacy. She began working there at age 16 as a stock girl, working herself all the way up to district manager. She had attended St. Augustins School in Newport. She was a Graduate of Rogers High School, Class of 1976. Karen, had been a co-ordinator of the Shelly Lynn Hollis memorial golf tournements for cancer research. She enjoyed traveling and had an immense love for life. Besides her parents she is survived by a brother Christopher C. Berluti of Mansfield, MA, a sister Katie M. Mahoney of Newport, RI, and four nieces and nephews.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Augustins Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport.
