Karl Michael Suleski

Newport, RI - Karl Michael Suleski, 84, of 70 Harrison Avenue, Newport, RI, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Village House Nursing Home in Newport. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Schranz Suleski. Born in Hadley, MA, on January 30, 1924, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kopczynski Suleski. He is survived by his daughters Diane Manson and her husband Jim of Newport, RI, Susan Valone of Northampton, MA, and Lisa Barnes and her husband Mike of Apex, NC, and his grandchildren Lauren and Nicholas Manson both of Newport, RI, and Julie and Jill Barnes both of Apex, NC.Karl lived most of his life in Western Massachusetts before moving to Newport in 2004 to be close to his daughter Diane. He worked as a supervisor at Kollmorgen Optical Corporation and retired in 1987. Karl enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, fishing, hunting, and the New York Yankees.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Northampton, MA. Burial will be private.A Memorial Mass will be said in Newport at a time to be announced in the spring.
