Kathleen A. (Augustus) Christie, 88, of Middletown died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Grand Islander Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late William James Christie.Born on April 2, 1926 in Portsmouth, RI, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Susan (Pedro) Augustus. Mrs. Christie worked for 35 years as a bookkeeper and office manager for Sheffield Harvey Law Firm, retiring in 1987. She was an avid golfer and wintered in Arizona. Mrs. Christie was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church.She is survived by her daughter Karen-Lee Kenyon of Newport, RI, her brother Richard Augustus of FL, her sisters Geraldine Elshant and Barbara Clarke of Middletown, RI and her granddaughter, Christie-Ann Gafgen.She was the sister of the late Donald Augustus, Lawrence Augustus, and Eleanor Moitoza.Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 11:30am, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane, in Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand Islander Resident Activities C/O Homestead Unit 333 Green End Avenue Middletown, RI 02842.
