Kathleen Barbara Murphy Torrenti, 57 of 5 Brenda Road Old Saybrook, CT formally of Middletown, RI died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Thomas C. Torrenti of Old Saybrook, CT.Born in Cranston, RI on January 21, 1950. She was the daughter of Barbara B Murphy of Middletown, RI and the late Thomas L Murphy.Kathy graduated from Middletown High School in 1968 and from the Newport School of Nursing in 1971. She worked at the Forest Farms Nursing Home in Middletown, RI for many years and as a RN Supervisor at the Old Saybrook Convalescent Hospital from 1993-2006. She also donated so many loving hours in her caring for others.She was an active member of the Shoreline Church in Old Saybrook. She enjoyed singing and was a choir member at her church.In addition to her husband and mother she leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law Jay and Maureen Cook of Middletown, RI. She is also survived by her nephews Jay Cook, his wife Lorna and their children Mason, Camden and Caleigh of Middletown, RI., Ethan Cook also of Middletown, Caleb Cook and his wife Jannell of Warren, RI, and Colby Cook of Portsmouth, RI.She will lovingly be remembered and the family asks that you keep her spirit alive in your memories.Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Columba?s Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Shoreline Church, 139 Mill Rock Road East, Old Saybrook, CT. 06475, The American Heart Association, Heart Gift Dept., P.O.
