Newport, - Kathleen D. Dias Mather, 58, of 9 Bradford Avenue, Newport, formerly of Effingham, NH, died Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Our Lady Of Fatima Hospital, North Providence, RI.She was the wife of the late Edward R. ?Red? Mather Sr. Born in Newport, RI, on July 28, 1946, she was the daughter of Sophia Galante Dias of Newport, RI, and the late Elias B. Dias.. Mrs. Mather had worked as a dietary aide for 10 years at Newport Hospital and for 15 years in the Central Sterile and Processing Department at Newport Hospital. She was a member of the Newport Lodge of Elks and an honorary member of the Legion of Mary. She is survived by a brother Elias B. Dias Jr. of Effingham, NH, two sisters Natalie D. Colello of Providence, RI, and Eileen D. Pierson of Newport, RI, several nieces and nephews and several great neices and great nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at 9:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.
