NEWPORT - Kathleen M. Fryer of Newport died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 23, 2013. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin June 21, 1963 and was a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School in Warren, R.I. Kathy was a former volunteer at Cranston-Calvert School and for the Housing Hotline. In addition, she volunteered at the Newport County Community Mental Health Center. Kathy enjoyed music, writing poetry, and was an animal lover. She leaves her beloved daughter, Michele L. Fryer of Providence, her uncle Thomas Dyer of Norwalk, IA, and her foster family: parents Vincent J. Arnold and the late Joan C. Arnold of Middletown, brothers William Arnold of Ashby, MA, James Arnold (Karen) of Portsmouth, David Arnold (Julie) of Monument Beach, MA, and sisters Kathleen Gallagher (Carl) of Tiverton, Ann Arnold (Timothy May) of Newport, and Karen Ellsworth (Steve) of Oxford, NY. Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.Donations in Kathy's memory may be made to Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, RI 02842. A Celebration of Life gathering, to which family and friends are invited, will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Portofino Restaurant at the Ramada Inn, 425 East Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be private at a later date.
