Kathleen H. Griffin

Kathleen H. (Lynch) Griffin, 88, of Middletown, RI, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at the Village House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newport. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Griffin.A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was born in Pawtucket, RI on January 12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Catherine (Boynton) Lynch.Kay was born and raised in Pawtucket graduating from Pawtucket West High School, now known as Shea High School. She worked at NE Machine and Electric in Pawtucket until her marriage to Bob Griffin in 1949. They became residents of Middletown in 1964. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the De La Salle Mother's Club and the St. Catherine's Mothers Club, and was a longtime member of St. Lucys Church. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.Her survivors include her children Karen Weikert and her husband William, Robert Griffin Jr. and his wife Janet, and Patricia Silveira and her husband Thomas, all of Middletown, her grandchildren, Meghan Smith and her husband Maj. Michael Smith, USMC of California, Ashley Agren and her husband Michael, Rebecca Silveira, Katherine Griffin and Brittany Griffin all of Middletown, Thomas Silveira Jr. and his fiancee Nikki Harmon of South Carolina and Michael Silveira of Texas, her great grandchildren, Madison and Eilish Smith, Evan and Colin Agren, and Lilly and Carter Silveira. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John A Lynch Jr, William Lynch, Ruth Boleman, and Daniel Lynch.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 25 from 4:00-7:00pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 26 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
