Newport, - Kathleen Phelan, 77, of 87 Girard Avenue Newport died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Manhattan, NY on January 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Harrigan Phelan. Mrs. Phelan worked as a grandmother at the Head Start Program in Newport. She enjoyed traveling and Crocheting. She had left many beautifull examples. Mrs. Phelan was a student of Water color and some of her water fowl pieces were exhibited locally.She leaves two daughters Margaret Wagner of Ridgewood, NY and Virginia Lobdell of Newport, R.I. eight grnadchildren and eighteen greatgrandchildren.Funeral Services and burial will be private.Arrangements under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Homes, Newport, R.I.
