Kathryn C. Barry

Newport, RI - Kathryn C. Barry, passed away at Newport Hospital, on January 29, 2007 at the age of 94. For the past several years she resided at The Village House Center, 70 Harrison Avenue, Newport, where she was known for her independent and self-reliant spirit. Prior to her residence at Village House, she lived in her family home located on Memorial Boulevard. For several decades, her life in Newport was punctuated by almost daily walks around the city and unhurried lunches at the Newport Creamery on Bellevue Avenue.Born in 1912, she was predeceased by her parents, William E. Barry and Mary C. Sullivan and her three siblings, Edward, William and Lawrence Barry.Before her residence at Village House she attended mass regularly. Once at Village House, she remained quietly religious. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007, at 11:00AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
