Kelly Raymond Ramey

Newport, RI - Kelly Ramey, 77, of 163 Third Street, Newport, RI, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Heatherwood Nursing Center, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Linda D. Miles Ramey. Born in Catlettsburg, KY on Nov. 27, 1934, he was the son of the late John and Rosie Cordal Ramey.Mr. Ramey served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at the DB Mart as a manager and a security guard at Rough Point for the Newport Restoration Foundation. Besides his wife of 40 years, he leaves three sons Brian W. Ramey, Aaron J. Ramey both of Newport, RI, and Dennis K. Ramey of Portsmouth, VA. Kelly was the grandfather of Aaron J. Ramey Jr., Nicolle M. Ramey and Ashley R. Ramey all of Newport. He was the brother of Gramble Ramey of KY, Charlotte Jenkins of Lexington, KY and Ernestine Howard of Marion, OH. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-8pm in the funeral homeFuneral Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
