Kenneth Baker, Jr

Kenneth H. Baker, Jr., 57, of Philips Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Newport Hospital.Born in Newport, RI on October 23, 1952, he was the son of Dora L. Rorar Baker of Middletown, RI and the late Kenneth H. Baker.Known to his friends as Butch and Horse, he loved motorcycles and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was a caring and good provider to everyone he knew who would literally give you the shirt off his back.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, David P. Baker of Portsmouth, RI; his sister, Bonnie Herchy of Middletown, RI; five sons, three daughters, eight granddaughters, five grandsons and four nieces.Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 3-5 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of RI, 1117 Douglas Avenue, North Providence, RI 02904 or to Cardiovascular Associates of RI, 1076 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
