Kenneth Roy Whitehead

Middletown, RI - Kenneth P. Whitehead, 60, of Middletown, RI, formally of the North Kingston area, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at John Clarke Health Care Center Middletown, RI, of metastatic cancer with his companion of 18 years, Dorothy Pennachi by his side. Ken was born in Warwick, RI, on July 8, 1952 to Edson and Ruby (Wordell) Whitehead. He was an auto part delivery driver for Carngie's and Auto Zone. He also worked at various auto dealerships. Ken's passion in life was fixing cars, electronics and cooking for friends. Ken is survived by his sisters, Cindy Borges of Westport, MA, Carol Ensly of Washington, and Shirley King of North Carolina. He was the brother of the late Eddy Whitehead.Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013, from 9:00-11:00am, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be held in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown.Ken had next to nothing material wise so anyone wishing to do anything in his memory could buy a friend a cup of coffee or fix a friend's car.
